Our School Marpa ling lamdon model school Stongday Zanskar neseled in Himalayan ranges. School has been running since last 15 years.

30 students have been passed out of eight standard and joined the main school lamdol branch leh.
Barely half of the small Zanskarpas currently has access to government primary schools providing education modeled on the culture that prevails in Kashmir neighbor.
The curriculum there are not yet adapted to the needs of small and Zanskarpas functioning of their society: such programs do not completely account the traditions and Himalayan Buddhist culture, customs very different from the plains of India .
In addition, these classes are open to very whimsical and irregular, they are not enough by far not all children into school.
Therefore Marpaling school wanted to offer children a knowledge of academic subjects which is really appropriate: expand the skills, in order to enable children to develop their critical thinking, making them more autonomous in their choices and ultimately improve their living conditions. The school must strive to meet the changes in lifestyle and the opening of the modern world while preserving the best of traditional values.
Why is the education of small Zanskarpas is it currently so low?
Crossing the valleys of Zanskar, one meets many children herding. Some cheese dry in the sun or watching the water mill. Others porting and help their parents or older sister on the summer pastures. The girls take care of the smallest and carry on their backs. Work began early in the morning and often end late at night.
During the months of intense work in the summer, children are tempted to desert the classroom. Their parents need them and do not always understand the importance of education. In addition, families sometimes have difficulty paying various expenses incurred by attending the government school.
In addition, the Indian government schools, teachers often absent, especially to help their families in the fields. Departures prolonged de-motivate teachers and most children drop out.
Sometimes, in some government schools, children are better supervised by good teachers who are committed and do their best to reconcile the various constraints and organize their teaching based on the life of the village.
This list of the many problems plaguing the school system in Zanskar government could only strengthen the resolve of ARZ to offer a private school in accordance with the needs of children in these valleys.
